There is a broad spectrum of skills and abilities within the group, with scratch building and kit building being well represented.
We all share a passion for railways in the garden, modelling in scales 1:19 or 16mm to the foot and 7/8ths inch to the foot or thereabouts. This represents narrow gauge lines such as the world famous Lynton and Barnstaple railway with its 2 foot gauge. (16 x 2 = 32mm gauge) and the equally famous Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railways
The slightly boarder gauge 45mm represents 3 foot or 1 metre gauge prototypes such as the Isle of Man and the Irish railways.
Live steam powered models predominate within the group, from vintage Archangel, to the very latest Roundhouse and Accucraft products.
Battery powered models also play their part, being available to run at a moments notice, whilst the steamers are being prepared.
A fairly recent development has been a growing interest in 3D Printing both Resin and Filament. Some of our members have been designing and printing some really good projects.
