A reasonably spacious shed, was therefore eventually obtained through membership financing and placed close to the layout as a shelter from rain, and as a convenient storage area.
While the six month season of official running from April to the end of September allows for a number of meetings to be arranged, the layout also forms an important part of special events held by the L&BR. 16mm Scale Association members are always welcome to join in on the set running days if they wish through prior arrangement with the layout's Co-ordinator Dave Barnett. L&BR Volunteers are of course able to use the layout whenever they wish.
As a final agreement between members actively involved at Woody Gate, the title of 'Three Moors Short Axle Group' was adopted in 2024.
It is a requirement of the Railway that all live steam engines running on the layout be safety tested. A valid certificate indicating tests have been carried out must be shown if requested. A witnessed safety valve test can be carried out at the layout if required.
We regret that boiler testing is not available.
Thank you to Pete for this information.
